McKnight Scholars Leadership Application - Continuing Students

Scholarship awards for the McKnight Leader Scholars Scholarship consist of the following:

Scholarship award of $5,000 per year for freshman and sophomore year
Waiver of out-of-state tuition
Selected scholars will take part in the McKnight Scholars Leadership Program, which includes a leadership course and international travel abroad experience.

McKnight Scholars must complete 24 credit hours annually and maintain 3.0 cumulative GPA to maintain scholarship award and tuition waiver for succeeding years.

Instructions

Please complete every section of the application below before submitting it. You will be unable to edit or update it after submitting it. If necessary, type your answer to the essay questions beforehand and then copy them to the form. You should receive a confirmation e-mail after submitting the form. Please contact osuleadership@okstate.edu with questions or concerns.

A complete application includes completing this form, admission to Oklahoma State University, and submission of test scores and transcripts. Applicants must also have at least one McKnight nomination submission made by a high school administrator, counselor, teacher (or college administrator in the case of transfer student nomination), non-parent OSU alumnus, former McKnight recipient, 4H or FFA leader, or other community group leader for which the student has been involved and served in a leadership position.

IMPORTANT: This is very important if you are considering participation in NCAA athletics at OSU. Do not reference high school or any other athletic participation or athletic ability on any part of your application if you intend to participate in or are considering participation in NCAA athletics at OSU. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

Do not indicate that you intend to participate in NCAA athletics at OSU.
Do not request that any of your coaches nominate you for this scholarship. Instruct anyone writing a letter of recommendation to avoid any reference to your athletic participation or athletic ability.
Do not list any honors received that have any connection to your athletic participation or athletic ability.
Do not list leadership activities that have any connection to athletic participation or athletic ability.
Do not reference your athletic participation or athletic ability or lessons you learned from participating in athletics when answering essay questions.

If you mention athletic participation or athletic ability you will not be eligible to receive the McKnight Leader Scholars scholarship while also participating in intercollegiate athletics at OSU.
